CBD oil products have become increasingly popular, but with so many different terms being used, it can be confusing to know what you're actually getting. We'll break down the lingo surrounding CBD oil drops, helping you understand what they are, how they work, and what to look for when choosing a product.
What Are CBD Oil Drops?
Put simply CBD Oil drops are just another term used to describe CBD Oil.
CBD oil drops are a type of CBD product designed for oral use.
They typically come in a bottle with a dropper, allowing for precise dosage control. The drops contain a mixture of CBD extract and a carrier oil, such as MCT oil, hemp seed oil, or olive oil.
We use organic coconut MCT Oil as our carrier Oil. Infusing only strain specific flowers into our Oil never adds concentrates.
Understanding the Terminology: CBD Tinctures, Oils, and Drops
CBD Oil: This term is often used interchangeably with CBD tinctures and drops, but it generally refers to any oil-based CBD product. It can include a variety of formulations. Most common is whole plant concentrate mixed with a carrier oil.
We do a natural infusing with our flower never using solvents.
CBD Tinctures: Traditionally, tinctures are alcohol-based extracts. However, in the CBD industry, the term "tincture" is often used more broadly to describe liquid CBD products that can include oil-based solutions. Despite the name, many CBD tinctures oftentimes do not contain alcohol and are instead made with carrier oils.
CBD Drops: This term is a more user-friendly way of referring to CBD oil or tincture products. "Drops" emphasizes the method of delivery “dropping the oil under the tongue” and is often used in product marketing to highlight ease of use and dosage control. This is always referring to a “CBD Oil” one way or the other.
The Different Types of CBD Oil Drops
When choosing CBD oil drops, there are several different types available:
- Vermont Whole Flower CBD Drops: CBD from the best quality trichomes off the whole flower into our organic coconut MCT oil. We do this with trimmed flower material sourced only from our organic farm.
- Full Spectrum CBD Drops: These products contain the full range of cannabinoids and terpenes found in the cannabis plant, including trace amounts of THC (less than 0.3%). Oftentimes a “Whole Plant” Crude Oil product that is extracted from ethanol, alcohol, or CO2.
- Broad Spectrum CBD Drops: Like Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum drops contain multiple cannabinoids and terpenes but with the THC completely removed. This option is ideal for those who want to avoid THC while still benefiting from other cannabinoids.
- CBD Isolate Drops: These drops contain pure CBD with no other cannabinoids or terpenes. They are a good choice for those who are sensitive to THC or other cannabinoids and prefer a product with no other compounds.
How to Use CBD Oil Drops
CBD oil drops are typically used by placing them under the tongue and holding them there for 60-90 seconds before swallowing. This method allows for quick absorption into the bloodstream through the mucous membranes in the mouth.

Swallow it directly. Just eat the cbd directly. No need to hold it under your tongue if you don’t enjoy it. It will just take a few minutes longer to enter your body.
Also certain cbd Oil you can also apply topically. Put it on those sore joints, muscles, or sensitive skin! There are so many ways that you can use CBD Oil Drops.
What to Look for in CBD Oil Drops
When selecting CBD oil drops, consider the following factors:
- Source of CBD: Look for products that are Strain Specific, made from trimmed CBD Flower. Many companies will often say they use flowers when in fact they are using shuck material. Shuck material is majority leaf, and stem material, with a little bit of flower. Beware of this and look for companies like ours that show you the different strains and offer them for sale.
- Extraction Method: Naturally infusing whole flower CBD into MCT oil is considered one of the best methods. This process preserves the natural cannabinoids and terpenes without the use of harsh chemicals, ensuring a pure and potent product.
- Third-Party Lab Testing: Ensure the product has been tested by an independent lab for potency and purity, confirming it contains the advertised amount of CBD and is free from contaminants.
- Type of CBD: Beware of the terms Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, or Isolate, as these do not define a quality CBD product. What does is the material it is made from, where it was grown, the quality of the flower, the strain of the flower, and how it was extracted or infused. These we can answer easily.
Look for CBD Oil products made with quality trichomes
Trichomes are tiny glandular structures that are found on the surface of the CBD Flower. The trichomes are responsible for the CBD primary production. Storing the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. They are essentially the most crucial component of the plant for CBD production.
Trichomes are the most important factor when it comes to a quality CBD product. They directly influence the potency, consistency, and overall effectiveness of the CBD. Better trichomes mean a more effective product.
